Laurie Vincent may be recognised as one half of animated punk duo Slaves but the Maidstone born musician has also independently ventured into the visual arts.

The 22 year old, who cites influences including Raymond Pettibon, Barry McGee, Basquiat and Keith Haring, explores religion, conspiracy theories and iconic images such as Mike Tyson and John Merrick in his colourful paintings. His debut solo exhibition, held at Lewisham’s The Amersham Arms in March 2016, gained coverage in NME and Clash, and welcomed the likes of Professor Green and Phil Taggart. His work and his fashion label, Young Lovers Club, have subsequently become popular with a number of industry tastemakers including Annie Mac and Toddla T. 2016 will see Vincent continue his solo art with a series of exhibitions starting at Edinburgh’s Flaubert Gallery on August 4.
